Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) is an effective treatment for those wanting to stop using opioids
like heroin, oxycodone, hydromorphone, fentanyl, and Percocet.
We believe that:
- People who use opioids deserve non-judgemental, unbiased medical treatment that takes into account the whole person and individual needs
- Changing our behaviour around substance use is better supported by looking at your emotional and mental health, as well as your physical health
- Community based opioid services meet people where they are at
We offer:
- A community-based clinic; three Fridays a month
- An interdisciplinary, strengths-based approach to opioid agonist therapy
- Flexible, individualized services with the option of occassional video visits to accommodate those living outside Nelson
- Each visit includes a meeting with a social worker and a meeting with a physician
